Why me?

I have had therapy!

As a child, I experienced trauma and, as a result, struggled to regulate my emotions; the older I got, I quite quickly developed a panic disorder. I worried about everything; I didn't fit in anywhere and felt like I hated myself; nothing was good enough or achievable.  As I got older, I had little to no self-worth, confidence and self-esteem, which impacted my relationships and attachment to others and caused me to develop social anxiety. I never thought I could ever feel better, that was until I had therapy.

Therapy helped me understand myself in ways I never thought possible; I can now process why I experienced anxiety, and I have developed tools to help me calm down before a panic attack. I have learned that the mind and body are connected; I can identify what causes my physiological symptoms to trigger my stress responses and manage it.

Perhaps you can relate in some way, and maybe you're down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship or feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. I am here to help you learn to love yourself and give yourself the love and support you need. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. In my sessions, I promote learning about how our thoughts, actions and behaviours impact our bodies and minds and encourage the adoption of new attitudes and reactions. I have the tools and personal and professional experience to help you get back on track.

Throughout my career spanning over a decade, I have acquired a versatile set of skills that have enabled me to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds effectively. My expertise encompasses crucial areas, including trauma, substance abuse, untreated mental health conditions, physical and emotional domestic violence, anxiety and depression, stress, struggles with self-esteem and confidence, isolation, grief, terminal and chronic illnesses, body dysmorphia, and gender dysmorphia.
As a highly qualified and experienced professional in Social Work and Counselling, I hold a Master's degree in Social Work, a Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling and Therapeutic Studies, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy, along with extensive experience in play therapy with children in a school setting, amounting to over 100 hours, equips me with the necessary skills and knowledge to make a positive and meaningful impact on the people I work with.

My qualifications are further complemented by completing various training courses, such as Safeguarding Children Levels 1-7, Safeguarding Adults Levels 1-4, Mental Health First Aid, LGBTQ+ Awareness, and many more. These courses have allowed me to develop my expertise in child sexual exploitation, child neglect awareness, child bereavement, drug and alcohol awareness, and other relevant areas. With my knowledge and skills, I am confident I can provide practical assistance and support to individuals requiring it.

Through therapy, I am confident in my ability to help individuals overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives. I am committed to using my qualifications and extensive experience to improve the lives of those I work with.
